Floating Restaurant on Loboc River

One of the popular tourist activities in the province of Bohol is cruising down Loboc River while buffet dining on a floating restaurant. Emerald green because of the algae, Loboc River is 12 meters wide and 4 meters deep (I don't know how long it is). You don't cruise down the whole river, but the ride is around 40 minutes. At the turning point, you'll find three mini waterfalls and a band of musicians on a floating raft playing folk tunes for the tourists. I did some changes on the original photo like cropping the bottom and adjustint the saturation, brightness and contrast levels to really depict the colors of the river.

Eagle Point Resort - Barrio Bagalangit, Mabini, Batangas.

Locals call the area “Bagalangit,” which translates to “Almost Heaven.” After a weekend at Eagle Point Resort, it’s easy to see why.

The beachfront may not have powdery white sand, but divers and snorkelers surely won’t mind. There’s no need to charter a boat to view the reef corals. At just five meters from the cottage suites, fish can already be spotted amidst the coral reef fronting the whole resort. Clownfish, butterfly fish, Moorish idol and other small reef fish patrol the hard corals which have grown around the pier. The “Canyon Land” is especially recommended for snorkelers.

Located in front of the resort’s restaurant, the area has two large rocks in the middle of which you can swim through. The canyon-like crevice is about 8 feet deep and is teeming with fish. The reef stays level at a depth of about 15 feet before it drops steeply to about 100 feet deep. Divers can find plenty of small reef fish, sponges, nudibranchs and feather stars. Regulars attest that fish such as wahoo, skip jack and yellow fin tuna can be found in the mid-water area.

For those who would rather stay away from the deep blue waters, the resort has a saltwater pool about that is 12 feet deep. Here, you can swim with colorful fish and, when we last counted, five baby sharks. The pool is also used by local authorities as a rehabilitation pool for injured or very young sea creatures before their release back into the open sea. Novice scuba divers from the resort’s Safety Stop Dive Shop also train here at the pool.

Guests can also take a twenty-minute boat ride to visit Sepoc Island. Eagle Point’s newest acquisition features a white sand beach and a shallow coral reef where you can spot clownfish, blue starfish and small electric blue fish. There are hammocks by the beach for peaceful afternoon naps, a hiking trail for those who just can’t keep still, and a beach volleyball area.

Aside from its spectacular marine attractions, Eagle Point has two fresh water pools, a tennis court, a walk-through aviary, and a butterfly park. Jet skis and speedboats are available for rent. If you can spare an extra day, you can borrow a kayak, arrange for a motor boat to drop you off at the northern tip of Caban Island, and paddle your way up to the coast where you’ll be able to see mangroves. You can also charter an All-Terrain vehicle to ride up Mount Panay behind the resort. Finally, at the end of the day, massage services are available for weary guests.

Eagle Point Resort is located at Barrio Bagalangit, Mabini, Batangas.

Kawasan Falls, Cebu - Cebu Southern Trail

Kawasan Falls is a popular getaway destination in the southern part of Cebu.

When you get to Badian Town, you'll have to walk 15 to 30 minutes or less along a very rocky and narrow path.

But even though you might stumble a bit, just take it easy and enjoy the trek going up.

There's a beautiful river and all different kinds of tropical plants.

It's not everyday you'll have a beautiful view like this.

You'll have to cross 3 small bridges before reaching the falls.

Try to stop at this moment and look upstream.

Your camera can't wait to take some shots of the background and give you a forever lasting picture of what paradise is.
You can bring some food.

But If you want to just relax you don't have to bring in food since it's available from the resort's restaurants.

Cottages and tables are also available for rent.

You should rent a bamboo raft to take you around the lake, or for a refreshing "waterfall massage" under the falling water.

You also have the opportunity to climb up beside the waterfall and jump into the water, just like Tarzan!

While you and your friends are enjoying the cool and deep freshwater, the surroundings are relaxing and peaceful.

Remember that this area is popular with locals as well as visitors!

Tubbataha, Palawan - Tubbataha Reefs

The coral atolls of Tubbataha began to form thousands of years ago as fringing reefs of volcanic islands along the Cagayan Ridge. Over millennia, as the volcanoes became extinct and the islands sunk into the ocean depths, only the corals remained, as they continue to grow upwards towards the sunlight.

After more than 20 years of conservation efforts, the TRNP is home to no less than 483 species of fish, 396 species of corals (about half of the species in the world), 44 species of birds, nine species of dolphins and whales, and nesting Hawksbill and Green sea turtles.

Panglao, Bohol - Alona Beach Resort

Scenic Bohol casts an enigmatic charm drawn from the many archaic mementos spread throughout the oval-shaped island: from the Chocolate Hills and the tarsier to 16th century watchtowers and Jesuit Baroque mission churches. The Chocolate Hills, all of 1,268 perfectly cone-shaped hills, are undoubtedly the most famous tourist attraction in the province. Among these hills that abound in Central Bohol, two have been developed into top-class resorts.

A tropical haven of natural beauty, the coastline of the province is skimmed by gentle coves and white sand beaches. You can find some of the country’s great dive sights here. Balicasag in Bohol is one of the very best and most popular dives in the Visayas. A black coral forest is among its main attractions but virtually anywhere you drop in is sure to be rewarding. Another major attraction, Cabilao is renowned for the hammerhead sharks that shoal around the clear waters. Large pelagics are very common here, and if you are really lucky, you can find yourself swimming with a passing school of dolphins.
